To help ensure your oral health is in good condition for the next year, make sure you receive all the necessary treatments and screenings your smile requires. If you have not already done so, set up a visit to your dentist for an oral cancer screening. If you are unsure if you need an oral cancer screening, always be on the lookout for the various signs and symptoms of the disease.

Several other warning signs of oral cancers include adjustments in mouth sensitivity, pains, or hindrances to your head, neck, face, and mouth areas, as well as unexplained numbness, a heightened sensitivity and loss of feeling in your mouth, frequent sore throats, or the feeling that something is caught in the back of your throat, ear pain, a change and rotation in your teeth, and other pains and tenderness issues and problems in your face or mouth areas.

Be sure to inspect your mouth and facial areas to determine if any signs and symptoms of oral and throat cancer are present. Watch for visible abnormalities and irregularities, including lumps or bumps, unexpected swellings, crusts and rough spots, speckled patches, persistent sores, and dramatic and unexplained weight loss.

If you would like to book an appointment with Dakota Ridge Dental to see if you are a candidate for an oral cancer screening, please set up a visit with Dr. Stephanie S. Karlin & Justin S. Petracek and the rest of our team at our dentist office in Littleton, Colorado at 303.933.2420.
